Forthcoming Events

May 7th and 8th …National Mills Weekend is a celebration of the UK’s milling heritage held on the second weekend of May each year. Nationally the weekend is organised by the Mills Section of the SPAB. As many wind and water mills as are able open on one or both of the two days of the weekend. This is a great opportunity to visit and look round mills, many of which are not usually open to the public.

The Welsh Mills Society is running a series of training days to introduce participants to the amazing heritage of water and windmills in Wales.  Find out more here.

Our 2021 Spring Meeting and 2021 Autumn Meeting and AGM were held by Zoom  and recordings of these can be found in the members page.

Recordings of talks presented at these meetings are given here:

Polly Davies – Farming with Nature

Richard Hayman – How historic mills are chosen for Listed Building status

Ann Whittall – The National Wool Museum

Mel Walters – Coed Trewernau Mill: an update

Carew Tide Mill news:

Please note that Carew causeway will be closed for essential maintenance for a number of weeks from Monday 22 February onwards.   It is possible this restriction will be lifted before the maintenance work is complete so it may not be feasible to celebrate by walking to the tide mill just yet.
